Authentic Church

“So here’s what I want you to do. When you gather for worship, each one of you be prepared with something that will be useful for all: Sing a hymn, teach a lesson, tell a story, lead a prayer, provide an insight… Take your turn, no one person taking over. Then each speaker gets a chance to say something special from God, and you all learn from each other… This goes for all the churches — no exceptions.” The Message, 1 Cor. 14:28-33.

Ahhh, so that’s what church should be.

. . . Couldn’t have said it better myself!

  1. That’s the Charismatic church that I knew so well. How I miss it. Seeing God move mightily through our worship. Each and every Sunday was different. Would there be healing, prophesy, tongues, Word of Knowledge, Songs of unspeakable beauty in Worship? Yes…. there was. We were eye witnesses to what ever God was doing in us or to someone else. The Power of Fervent Prayer. The resultant Joy unending whenever someone confessed a sin or was healed. The Spirit Dances during worship where the body speaks in silent tongue what the self can not utter – lacking the right words. But somehow God used everyone of us in this way. We were ALL moved, We were ALL changed, We were all clay in the Master’s Hands! (sigh!)
