When shifting concepts of personal autonomy become the supreme law of the land, not by legislative deliberation through democratically elected representatives or constitutional provision but by the whim of judges, then all other rights – including those expressly enumerated in the Constitution – eventually must fall.

Those who “profess” Christ know not Christ if their concept of Christ produces contempt for Biblical truth, repentance, redemption, virtue, honor, service and sacrifice in all spheres of life – both public and private.

A passion for redeemed lives, sustainable churches and healthy nations means rejecting their false Christ of existential angst, cultural anarchy and postmodern sensibilities.

God’s gifts and calling are about His mission, not your title, position or “ministry.”

Rob Bell, by insisting that the church embrace homosexual “marriage” and reject clear Biblical teachings, is an apostate existentialist: He claims the right to let his sensibilities define God and His written Word, rather than let God and His written Word define his sensibilities.

Until we understand that Jesus tells individuals to turn their other cheek in response to personal offenses, while giving civil magistrates the power of the sword to punish evildoers and protect the innocent, we will never have an authentically Biblical worldview.

God is looking for those who will stand in the gap by bearing witness to His immanent grace and transcendent sovereignty in an age of meaningless autonomy.

Worship Porn: When “church” becomes a staged performance designed to manipulate the innate desire for self-gratification and emotional intensity among an assembled audience.

Those who think that proper church methodologies and structure will solve all their problems are just as naïve as those who think that wrong church methodologies and structure don’t contribute to their problems.

You can’t change what you won’t confront: Courage and sacrifice are the price we pay for virtue, while evil thrives on apathy and fear.

I’m more interested in going, and letting Christ come alive among you and your friends, than expecting you to come and find Him among me and my friends.

Such is the heart of the Great Commission.

Existential Deceptions: Claiming ambiguity to justify rebellion against the clear meaning of God’s authoritative written Word, and thus against God Himself.

A walking concordance no more knows God’s heart, than an existentialist knows His mind.

Ideas have consequences, as do doctrines …

Including the doctrine that doctrines don’t matter.

Claims of “radical faith” and “deeper life” hold no appeal. Often, they become distractions from God’s desire that we become whole, complete people of simple faith and simple obedience.

The older I get, the more I want simple.

While a prepared message has its place, it is no substitute for a prepared man or woman.
